Wine workshop - wine and local produce - Château d'Auzias
Domaine Auzias, located a stone's throw from the Medieval city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, is the estate of Château Auzias-Paretlongue en Cabardès, whose history dates back to the beginning of the 12th century. The vineyard is very old since in 1111, in the midst of the Cathar period, the “Notre Dame de Pareti-Longi” abbey was founded by the canons of Carcassonne.
From 1872, Léon and Emile Auzias developed, from Carcassonne, an important wine trade from Languedoc to eastern France and created the brand and labels associated with their family name.
The Château Auzias vineyard covers 160 ha with a very diverse variety of grape varieties. The Château thus produces incomparable wines, in "IGP Cité de Carcassonne" appellations combining finesse and elegance, and in the "AOP Cabardès" appellation combining the power and richness of Languedoc with the finesse and freshness of Bordeaux wines.
